Abstract: Action research is a form of self reflective practice as it enables a researcher to think and reflect on their own work. Action research involves identifying an issue or problem, identifying and implementing the solution and evaluating the solution. This paper describes the general concepts of action research, steps in action research and the benefits of action research. It also studies an ongoing action research project for the Accounting II subject for the January 2008 cohort of the Taylor’s Business Foundation on the reinforcement of understanding of a particular accounting topic and on constructive immediate feedback given to students. After four sessions, the students were given a questionnaire, which included an open-ended question to evaluate the effectiveness of the action research project. The results indicate that the problem has not been completely solved and further action research is needed to solve this problem.
