dc.description Abstract : The interest to adapt blog into teaching and learning has led tutors to also focus on various means of assessing blog for teaching. A blog - better known as a knowledge sharing technology - has enabled problem-based learning by recreating the ethos of traditional face-to-face sessions. Blogging offers great potential in the process of guided discovery when adopted into the curriculum. To achieve the objective of extending the academic instructional content, however, embedding the blog into the curriculum is something new and thus it has been utilized in an explorative manner to discover its potential effectiveness. A group of first time bloggers for education, comprising of 27 registered students of Diploma course were enrolled in E-Commerce subject in a Malaysian private college. A survey questionnaire comprising a 5-point Likert scale was employed to examine students’ perspective towards the blog implementation for a short semester and the students’ perception towards assessment with blogging. Based on descriptive analysis of the questionnaire, data gathered revealed that, no students ever had any experience being assessed for their posts for blogging. Problems discovered in the study reveals that some students feel it is tedious to post weekly messages in the blog created for the course and prefer the conventional tutorials session at some point. The results of the survey were analyzed followed by the conclusions and discussion on the study.
