Abstract
Description
Abstract : This paper examines why people are resistant to changing their mindset with regards to new moral issues. Indeed, it has been a norm for humans to resist change. Continuous debate and research in philosophy and also in psychology have identified the process of a paradigm shift which has caused difficulties for humans to put aside their norms, thinking, culture, behavior, belief systems and religious dogmas. To what extent has this caused difficulties in humans to cope with new moral issues i.e, discrimination, cohabitation, religious rights, gay rights, transsexuals, transvestites and so on? How do we make ourselves progress in line with moral issues? Can we survive without taking a moral leap? Will culture and religion give us the chance to change our belief system? Will humans be able to progress or evolve according to the needs of time and space? These issues have been investigated and the findings are presented in this paper.
