Abstract
Description
Abstract: Students’ satisfaction has critical impact on the overall success of an institution. However since the competition among educational institutions has become more intense there is a need for identification of important factors influencing the students’ college choice satisfaction. The purpose of this study is to provide an insight into international students’ choice satisfaction focusing on college attributes and information satisfaction acting as independent variables, and college choice satisfaction as the vital dependent variable. This preliminary cross-sectional study was carried out utilizing a self-administered survey instrument conducted among 149 international students in a private higher education institution. It was hypothesized that college attributes and information satisfaction influence college choice satisfaction. An examination of associations showed support for the hypothesized relationship. Multi linear regression analysis indicates information satisfaction as the more important predictor of choice satisfaction compared to college attributes. Thus, the result implies that if students are satisfied with information on college attributes obtained prior to choice, they are very likely to be satisfied with their college choice. The study will assist marketers in reviewing their marketing strategy that recognizes the growing diversity of the international market and also contribute to the enhancement of further research on choice satisfaction.
